Whilst our incredibly hard-working, talented team of staff keep Phoenix Drilling ticking day-to-day, our 22-vehicle fleet are the next the most important branch of the Phoenix family and we were all very excited to welcome our new flagship vehicle to the fleet – the Scania 650s v8!

Our very own Contracts Coordinator David Turnbull made the near 600-mile round trip to Moody International Haulage in Grimsby to collect the truck back in September, giving it its first big run before it begins to move our rotary rigs the length and breadth of the UK all-year round.
The decal on the truck was designed and wrapped by our friends CubeWraps in Hamilton – giving this one a unique look away from our standard design on our vans to make sure this one stands out – just as it should!

As we continue to ensure we’re doing as best we can for the environment too, we’re pleased to confirm the truck has a Euro 6 engine which means a reduction in harmful emissions and ensures we meet the emission standards that can be encountered in some big cities during big projects.

Euro 6 is sixth and latest directive set by the EU to help reduce the level of harmful pollutants produced by new vehicles. These standards are particularly targeting nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by forcing vehicle makes to reduce NOx output by more than 55% from the previous Euro 5 standards.

If you ventured along to the recent cinch Premiership clash between Livingston and Celtic at the Tony Macaroni Arena last month, you might very well have seen this new addition in person as we took it along on the day to let the young supporters of both sides get their photos taken with the vehicle outside the clubs main stand – and in front of the Sky Sports cameras no less too!

With a fully specified motor, this ensures our drivers have the easiest and most comfortable time whilst on the road – an essential for us here at Phoenix Drilling!

Keep your eyes peeled on our social media as we look to bring you regular photos of our latest vehicle out on the road – it’s too nice not too share!
